COMMENTARY - Unstoppable Anderson Silva

Saturday night at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio Anderson "The Spider" Silva defended his 185lb UFC Middleweight Title for the fourth time, submitting Dan Henderson with a rear naked choke at 4:52 of round 2. This battle was to answer any questions as to who is the best middleweight in the world, and without any doubt the question has been answered. To Henderson's credit, the olympic wrestler took the UFC Champion deeper than anyone else has lately. But before 16,431 fans at the sold-out arena the outcome was status quo: another decisive victory for Anderson Silva.
Now for mixed martial arts fans a new question looms - is there anyone that can dethrone the Middleweight King? There will be little who would dispute that Silva is the best middleweight fighter in the world, and few who would dispute that he's probably the best fighter in the world pound for pound. Silva has already beaten the top contenders in his division, first taking the title from then champion Rich Franklin and defeating Franklin again in their rematch. He submitted the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu black belt Travis Lutter and TKO'd the very talented Nate Marquardt. Dan Henderson came down from his 205lb light heavyweight weight to face Silva because "who was left to challenge Silva in his division" said UFC President Dana White.
So what remains for Anderson Silva and who is next remains to be seen. Me personally, I'd like to see a title unification bout between UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva and WEC Middleweight Champion Paulo Filho. Yeah right...
